Arthur Ritchie, Jr. Judge Art Ritchie was appointed to the District Court by Governor Kenny Guinn in March, 1999, and was retained by election in 2000, 2002, 2008, and 2014. Art Ritchie graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English in 1984, and earned his Juris Doctor Degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1987. From 1987 to 1988, Art Ritchie was the Law Clerk to the Honorable J. Charles Thompson.  He was an associate attorney with McDonald, Carano, Wilson, McCune, Bergin, Frankovich & Hicks from 1988 to 1992.  Prior to being appointed to the bench, he was a partner in the law firm Freeman & Ritchie from 1992 through March, 1999. Judge Ritchie served as the Presiding Judge of the Family Division of the Eighth Judicial District Court from July, 2006 through December, 2008, and was the Chief Judge of the Eighth Judicial District Court in 2009 and 2010. Judge Ritchie served as a member of the Nevada Bar Family Law Section Executive Council from 2005-2007, and served as a member of the Clark County Bar Association Executive Board from 2007-2009.  He also served as a member of the Nevada Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics and Election Practices from 2005-2013.
