Judge Veronica M. Barisich

District Judge - Eighth Judicial District Court - Civil/Criminal Division - Department V

Veronica M. Barisich is the presiding judge in Department 5 of the Eighth Judicial District Court. Judge Barisich was elected to the Eighth Judicial District Court in November 2020. Prior to taking the bench in January of 2021, Judge Barisich practiced in the areas of civil litigation, family law, guardianship, and probate. Judge Barisich proudly served as a Small Claims Court Judge Pro Tem and as a member of the State Bar of Nevada Fee Dispute Committee. Judge Barisich received a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, majoring in International Relations at James Madison College. She obtained a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During her time in school, Judge Barisich worked for local attorneys, a District Court judge, and interned at the Office of the Governor of Michigan. As judge in Department 5, Judge Barisich oversees a docket of civil cases, including medical malpractice specialty court cases, and probate matters. Judge Barisich and the staff of Department 5 are honored to serve the people of Clark County.
